A joint exhibition featuring the works of Ch.Batbileg and Ts.Odgerel is showing at the Khan Bank Art Gallery.
The Irmeg – meaning “verge” – exhibition was opened on Wednesday.
Khan Bank opened its gallery in 2002, with a total collection of 225 pieces.
“Our goal is to introduce young artists to people,” said Khan CEO Peter Morrow. “The exhibition’s specialty is selecting paintings of the most youngest and most skilled artists.”
Twenty modern oil paintings by both artists were exhibited, featuring Odgerel’s works “People”, “The Night”, “Children”, “Opinion”, “Girl-Portrait”, “Window”, “The Dream”, “Relay Station” and “Process”. Ch.Batbileg’s ten works are a numbered collection called “Diary”.
Batbileg graduated from Art’s University in Dresden, German in 2002. He has participated in more than 10 foreign and Mongolian exhibitions.
Odgerel graduated from Mongolian Graphic Art’s University in 2005, and has participated in over 20 exhibitions.
“We wanted to make people understand Mongolia’s charm in this exhibition,” they said. “Through today’s society, nomadic life, sedentary life, and the past, present and future.”
They said that the exhibition is based on the theme that the “verge of every idea may be pronounced”.
“The Earth’s people and their technology are forming the World’s downfall everywhere and we show that in our exhibition,” said Batbileg.
Odgerel said that it was a difficult process, as it is her first joint exhibition.
“To draw a picture is not easy because I draw the picture after thinking for a very long time,” she said. “I tried to show how the earth, people, people’s communication and our future change things.”
The exhibition will continue until July 28 and the Khan Bank has new exhibits every two to four weeks.
